A. Alan Sheffy

A. Alan (Tony) Sheffy is the founding partner. His practice is devoted to trial law, with a special emphasis on personal injury litigated in state and federal courts. Mr. Sheffy handles cases that include wrongful death, auto accidents, medical malpractice, product liability, worker’s compensation, claims against drunk drivers, and cases against insurance companies for bad faith and uninsured motorist claims. He is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College (B.S.,1985) and Western New England School of Law magna cum laude (J.D.,1989) 
Mr. Sheffy is a member of the American Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. He presently serves as Assistant Town Attorney for the town of Southington and is past president of the United Way of Southington as well as a past and present supporter and volunteer in numerous civic organizations and charitable foundations.

Joseph A. Mazzaccaro

Joseph A. Mazzaccaro has been a partner in the firm since 2002. Prior to that time, he was a partner in the firm of Elliott, Stanek, Mazzaccaro & Sciota. The majority of Mr. Mazzaccaro’s practice is devoted to real estate law. He represents individuals and lenders in purchases, sales and refinances. In addition to real estate matters, Mr. Mazzaccaro handles landlord-tenant issues, collection actions, corporate formation and estate planning. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut (B.A., 1976) and New England School of Law (J.D., 1980). Mr. Mazzaccaro has conducted real estate presentations before various lenders and real estate agents. He has been recognized by Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company as one of the top 100 producing attorneys in the state of Connecticut.

Valerie A. DePaolo

Valerie A. DePaolo joined the firm in 2006. Prior to that time, she worked as a lawyer in the insurance industry in Boston for 13 years. She has extensive experience in estate and business planning and taxation, probate, elder law and family matters. Ms. DePaolo is a graduate of Boston University (B.A., 1983) and New England School of Law (J.D., 1987). She is a member of the Central Connecticut Collaborative Family Law Group, The International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Ms. DePaolo is a member of the Southington Library and Museum Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees at First Congregational Church of Southington, and a past and present volunteer for other local civic organizations including the YMCA, Chamber of Commerce and Relay for Life.

John J. Dunham

John J. Dunham became associated with the firm in 2005 after having a general practice of law in Southington for 35 years. His practice includes litigation of automobile tort and criminal cases, family matters and real estate transactions. Mr. Dunham is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts (B.A., 1962) and the University of Connecticut (J.D., 1966). In addition to working as a volunteer in many civic organizations, Mr. Dunham is Burlington, CT’s First Selectman, past President of the Southington Chamber of Commerce, past President of the Southington YMCA, past Chairman of the Red Cross, and a board member of the former Southington Bank & Trust Company.
